Your dog's skin & coat
Hi there! I hope you and your dog are looking forward to their next spa visit! You’re here because you're curious about your dog's skin and coat!
You may notice that your dog’s skin/coat appears to be dry, flakey, itchy, irritated, crusty, impacted, tangled, or full of debris. To address any of these conditions properly, your groomer will likely use a technique of grooming known as the close-open-close, or COC, method. This technique allows your groomer to rejuvenate and restore your dog’s skin/coat to a healthier state!
The close-open-close method
The COC method is a therapeutic technique that we’re continuing to study and expand on! Our understanding is such that the COC method, like many other therapies, is not intended for constant or lifelong use. Instead, this technique should be visited and revisited during times of need. Our goal is to not only rejuvenate and restore your dog’s skin and coat to a healthier status now, but to also maintain that healthy status moving forward! Routine bathing and grooming between COC therapies is highly recommended. The COC method is not necessary for routine bathing, unless there’s a chronic condition* to be addressed.
Grooming frequency
Your dog’s grooming schedule is best determined by their breed, their skin and coat, and your lifestyle! We’re happy to make every effort to accommodate a routine grooming schedule that works for you, and prioritizes your pup! Submit the questionnaire below, and one of our office team members will reach out to you with our suggested grooming frequency!
